Here are this week’s top tips on all things sport and racing

Here are this week’s top tips on all things sport and racing

Overnight Melbourne brought up their first victory for the season at the SCG defeating the Sydney Swans by 22 points.

This weekend I am taking a multi which requires Collingwood to defeat the Western Bulldogs, Geelong to beat GWS, West Coast to beat Fremantle and Brisbane at the +18.5 points to either win or get within three goals of Essendon. The multi is paying $2.82. If you are looking for something a little bigger you could include Gold Coast and Hawthorn which swells it to $6.50.

Looking for some First Goal Scorer glory at big odds and I have backed Gryan Miers at $15 and Josh Kennedy at $7.

I expect West Coast to be too strong for Fremantle in the Western Derby and in Glendinning-Allen Medal betting I have backed Dom Sheed at $8.

I will take a multi with Sydney, South Sydney and the Melbourne Storm to all win this weekend. The multi price is $2.67.

I will have a multi with the Perth Glory, Sydney FC and the Melbourne Victory to all win in the A-League this round. The multi price is $3.30.

I’ll opt for a multi with Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton to win their respective matches this weekend. The multi price is $3.06.

MMA – UFC 236

I’ll take a three leg multi which needs Eryk Anders, Max Holloway and Brandon Davis to all win their respective bouts in the UFC this weekend. The multi is paying $3.24.

It is day two of the Championships at Randwick while locally we have the WA Derby at Ascot.

My best bets of the weekend are as follows :

Randwick Saturday Race 4 Number 5 Cheer Leader (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $3) : Talented Two Year Old Filly who blitzed her rivals at her most recent outing when winning at Moonee Valley by five lengths. Meets some hot opposition here but looked pretty special to my eye last time out. In good hands with Peter and Paul Snowden and in-form Jockey Damian Lane takes the ride from barrier three. Plenty to like about her.

Randwick Saturday Race 5 Number 7 Classique Legend (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $4.60) : Smart three year old who has had three starts for two wins and a third. Did a power of work on a heavy surface last time out when a close-up third in the Darby Munro. Should appreciate a better surface for this assignment and looms as a great each way play.

Randwick Saturday Race 8 Number 10 Dubhe (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $3.20) : European stayer who makes his Australian debut in this year’s Sydney Cup. Was an impressive winner over the two miles at Meydan last time out and Trainer Charlie Appleby has had a wonderful knack of placing these sorts of horses to perfection for Godolphin in recent times. In nicely with just 52.5 kilograms and looms as the one to beat.

Ascot Saturday Race 4 Number 4 Touch Of Silver (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $4.40) : Handed in his best performance for quite some time last start when making up plenty of ground in the home running to rattle home for second. Gave the indication that he is ready to win again now and at close to each way odds is well worth a look.

Mandurah Friday Race 8 Number 1 Ren Monelli (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price Not Available) : Drops in class for this and has consistently been breaking 28 seconds. Should appreciate the grade and box here. In race 2 I lean towards number 8 Ouchamp and like the 3 and 8 Quinella. In race 7-5 Mottza should also take some stopping.
